A communication tool from the PREP program (Markman and Stanley), with roots in psychologist Haim Ginott's earlier complaint formula: "When you did X in situation Y, I felt Z." Keeps the conversation anchored to specific observable behavior and personal feelings rather than character attacks or mind-reading. Reduces the chance of defensiveness because it doesn't claim to know intent.
